Seeking a dedicated professional to provide meaningful support to the growth and development of a 6-year-old autistic child who is non-speaking.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting play-based learning and therapy, including sensory and communication activities, across home, childcare, and school environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with toilet training using a patient, respectful, and consistent approach
  • Providing 1:1 support and helping navigate routines and social environments at childcare and school
  • Collaborating with family, educators, and therapists to maintain a consistent, strengths-based approach
  • Communicating progress and needs clearly with family and professionals
  • Creating an environment of emotional safety, understanding, and joy

To Be Successful In This Role:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Education, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology, or Special Education
  • Experience working with autistic children, particularly non-speaking or high-support-needs individuals
  • Confidence supporting toilet training and everyday skill development
  • A solid understanding of autism-informed strategies and respectful communication
  • A caring, playful, and dependable nature

This is a part-time opportunity, approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility across school, childcare, and home settings. You must be available to attend some daytime hours across weekdays.
