Education Specialist

MacKillop Family Services is seeking a full-time Education Specialist to join their Therapeutic Residential Care team.

The successful candidate will work predominantly at an office with one day of travel to another office.

This role involves developing strong, supportive professional relationships to engage students and provide a safe and stimulating environment for learning.

  • Develop and implement individual education plans to support students' learning and engagement.
  • Provide educational support to students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure equity and access to learning for all children and young people.

Applicants should have appropriate experience and qualifications in education. They should also have knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and be aware of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.

It is essential to have experience working with children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. Excellent interpersonal skills are also required with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a team.
