About This RoleWe are seeking a Senior Project Officer to play a key part in providing culturally safe, evidence-based heart health education and support for First Nations people in South Australia.
This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly, blending time between home and our Adelaide office.
Key Responsibilities- Delivery of the First Nations Heart Health Project South Australia project.
- Building relationships with stakeholders to support better health outcomes for First Nations people.
- Developing and delivering culturally appropriate resources, education, and training to promote healthy lifestyles among First Nations communities.
- Preparing and presenting key reports both internally and to funding bodies.
- Collaborating across functions and with external partners to translate research into effective programs and activities.
- Representing the Heart Foundation at events and meetings to contribute to relevant policy, advocacy, and development activities.
- Experience in a health-related field or equivalent.
- Knowledge or experience in community development or health-related fields, lived experience an advantage.
- Program and project planning and management skills.
- Understanding of issues affecting First Nations Health and experience working towards equity and self-determination.
- Demonstrated cultural understanding and sensitivity when working with First Nations communities.
- Ability to develop and deliver training and education resources.
- Flexibility to travel to communities across South Australia and potentially interstate.
- A consultative approach promoting participation, collaboration, and innovation, along with strong communication skills.
