Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled commercial lawyer to join our in-house legal team. As a junior to mid-level commercial lawyer, you will have the opportunity to learn from an experienced legal team and work on a broad range of practice areas.

  • Drafting and advising on various client and commercial contracts.
  • Assisting with various legal matters including privacy and other regulatory issues, employment law matters and investigations, disputes and litigation as well as special projects.
  • Researching legal issues and supporting senior lawyers.

This role is ideal for someone who has prior commercial legal experience, ideally in a private practice setting, and enjoys working in a friendly, collaborative and high-performing environment.

About The Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert advice on commercial contracts and related matters.
  • Assisting with the preparation and review of contracts and other legal documents.
  • Supporting the development of commercial strategies and initiatives.

You will work closely with our experienced legal team to deliver exceptional results and contribute to the growth and success of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Developing practical and commercial solutions to meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve business objectives.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge and expertise, as well as your legal skills, through training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (or Juris Doctor) and eligibility to practice in an Australian State or Territory.
  • Likely 2-4 years PQE (private practice experience will be highly regarded).
  • An interest in contracts/commercial law and maintaining a broad practice.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret the law and develop practical and commercial solutions.
  • A commitment to self-development, with a willingness to learn and grow with the organisation.
