Emergency Management Support Specialist

Latrobe City Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Emergency Management Team as an Emergency Management Support Officer.
About the Role
The successful applicant will work closely with the Coordinator Emergency Management to prepare and deliver the responsibilities of Council in Municipal Emergency Management. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the efficient and effective management of Council's resources in relation to fire prevention and emergency management
- Issuing permits to burn, fire prevention notices, and infringement notices
- Acting as the assistant Municipal Fire Prevention Officer (MFPO) for the purposes of identifying properties that constitute a fire threat and issuing fire prevention notices as a means of reducing those risks
- Providing support and responding to requests for information within the guidelines of the Municipal Emergency Management Plan, Council policy and procedures, and Country Fire Authority, Fire Rescue Victoria, and Emergency Management Acts
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualifications in emergency management, project management, or other relevant field, or demonstrated experience in a similar role and environment
- Completed "Introduction to Emergency Management" and "Introduction to AIIMS" or willingness to undertake
- Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven capacity to deliver proactive, coordinated, and sustainable emergency management support practices
- Current driver's license is essential
