Child Protection Team Leader

This challenging role requires a Child Protection Team Leader to oversee the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing works to create equal opportunities for all Victorians to live a safe, respected and valued life.

You will work collaboratively with Senior Child Protection Practitioners to strengthen case practice and provide effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Critical assessment and reflection on complex cases
  • Risk assessment and analysis: authorize plans and decisions in relation to risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation/intervention
  • Case planning review and management: lead planning, review, and management of your own and team members' case work
  • Critical inquiry: lead planning, review, and management of issues in line with best practice principles and legislative requirements
  • Standardized reporting: review team documents including court reports, case plans, and assessments, ensuring reporting obligations are met
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including in-country regions and interstate
  • Understanding of Aboriginal culture and legislative, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit/visa
