We are seeking a talented Urban Planning Specialist to join our City Development department. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring that development within the City is of high quality, standard and function, achieving consistency with statutory requirements.

About the Role

This permanent full-time position offers a salary range of $98,151 to $113,415 per annum, plus superannuation, depending on formal accreditation and experience.

The role involves assessing a range of development applications, providing professional technical planning and development advice to the community, applicants and stakeholders, and preparing reports for the Council Assessment Panel.

As a Senior Development Officer Planning, you will also provide technical leadership and mentoring to other Planning Team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing development applications and making recommendations to the Council Assessment Panel
  • Providing expert planning advice to the community, applicants and stakeholders
  • Preparing reports and presentations for Council meetings and stakeholders
  • Leading and mentoring junior planners to develop their skills and expertise
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Eligibility to join the Planning Institute of Australia as a Member or Associate
  • Accredited Professional - Planning Level 3 or 4 under the Accredited Professionals Scheme or willingness to obtain
  • Current White Card
