
Surgical Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled nursing professional to fill the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals in providing exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire their team to deliver high-quality care. A strong background in surgical nursing, along with experience in paediatric care, is essential for this role.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver advanced clinical care, overseeing daily patient outcomes within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
- Mentor and guide less experienced staff, fostering a positive and professional team culture.
- Assist the Nurse Unit Manager with daily ward operations, including rostering, staffing, recruitment, and performance management.
- Participate in clinical audits, promote best practice care, and support implementation of practice improvements and change initiatives.
- Facilitate clinical teaching, contribute to a culture of learning, and support ongoing staff development and portfolio maintenance.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (or eligible) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practicing certificate.
- Minimum 3 years post-registration nursing experience, including demonstrated competence in surgical nursing.
- Experience in paediatric surgical nursing and supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses, and junior registered nurses.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, professional standards, and quality improvement systems.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, with excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
