Conflict Resolution Specialist

As a Conflict Resolution Specialist at EML (Employers Mutual Limited), you will play a vital role in helping people navigate disputes and find resolutions. Your expertise in conflict resolution, negotiation, and stakeholder management will enable you to make a positive impact on individuals' lives.

About You- You hold a Bachelor of Laws or equivalent qualification.
- You have experience in Victorian workers compensation disputation and litigation processes or alternative dispute resolution.
- You possess strong engagement, negotiation, conflict resolution, people, and stakeholder management skills.
- You have a solid understanding of Victorian workers compensation legislation, case law, and relevant documentation.
- Reporting to the Senior Legal Specialist, you will attend Work Injury Commission (WIC) hearings and provide advice, review evidence, negotiate settlements, and make submissions on facts and law.
- You will evaluate disputes, determine resolution strategies, and participate in arbitration hearings and conciliation conferences to facilitate timely resolutions.
- Gather and prepare evidence for hearings and conferences, including arranging witnesses, preparing submissions, and delivering clear oral and written content.
- You will engage with internal and external stakeholders regarding dispute nature and potential resolution outcomes.
- You will meet with workers/worker representatives to discuss disputes and attempt early resolution in line with WorkSafe requirements.
- Review scheme trends and individual cases, keeping up-to-date with case law and precedents affecting claims determinations and the scheme.
