This APS regulator is on a journey to elevate data maturity and embed evidence at the core of regulatory decisions.

The agency is investing in modern data platforms to enable advanced analytics and predictive insights that will shape the future of the sector. You'll be joining the data team responsible for analytics, reporting, and risk insight. The data and insights this team produces inform compliance and regulatory confidence.

There are multiple positions available (one APS5, and one APS6) that will see you influencing how reporting, analysis, and insights are built and used over the next few years.

The team has an inclusive & supportive team culture including regular virtual team bonding sessions, pro-active check ins, and hands-on leadership. Everyone feels included regardless of their location.

You'll also have the flexibility to work from home up to two days per week. At the APS5 level you will contribute to the team's reporting and analytics capability through the following responsibilities:

  • Own and improve the monthly reporting process, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests, e.g. 'How many complaints were received in X period?' or 'How many providers deliver x service?'
  • Maintain and improve data products, resolving bugs and optimising reporting workflows.
  • Keep reporting 'lights on' while contributing to process improvements and longer-term projects.

For the APS6 role you will:

  • Tackle more complex, discovery-style data requests, exploring compliance and audit datasets.
  • Identify linkages across multiple data sources to draw conclusions and test scenarios ('If we make this change, what will be the impact?')
  • Transform and analyse data to uncover insights that inform regulatory decisions.
  • Understand the business problem and come up with the solution not just report a number.
  • Communicate insights clearly, telling the story with data and influencing stakeholders.
