Procurement and Sustainability Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a Procurement and Sustainability Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing procurement strategies that advance positive social impact, analyzing social procurement opportunities, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement programs increasing Indigenous participation in procurement processes.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of social procurement concepts, including aboriginal procurement, local/regional procurement, modern slavery, environmental/sustainability procurement issues. They will also have experience in projects requiring a continuous improvement mindset and tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain, or similar.

In this role, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to drive the integration of sustainability and social impact into procurement processes. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Synergy's aboriginal procurement strategy and collaborate with suppliers that meet our social procurement objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain, or similar
  • 5-10 years in a procurement specialist, category manager, or similar procurement/supply chain role
  • Deep understanding of social procurement concepts, including aboriginal procurement, local/regional procurement, modern slavery, environmental/sustainability procurement issues
  • Demonstrated experience in projects requiring a continuous improvement mindset
