About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our Program and Project Delivery Solutions Team at Jacobs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately forecast and assess project costs, timelines, quality, and constructability.
  • Utilize construction techniques and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare bills of quantities.
  • Handle estimating, variations, take-offs, and cost proposals.
  • Prepare forecast cash flows and provide procurement advice to clients.
  • Actively participate in value management and risk workshops.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, with an understanding of construction methodologies for highways, bridges, and tunnels.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage, and communicate workloads effectively.
  • Keen attention to detail and a desire to learn and develop technical skills in cost management services.
  • Collaborative mindset, understanding client needs and goals, and working as part of a team to achieve them.
  • Proficiency in first principle estimating for infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges, traffic management, and mass haul movement of earthwork.
  • Understanding of constructability and staging issues in civil projects.
  • Knowledge of local (Australian) plants and machinery, material use in civil projects, and productivity factors.
  • Experience with software such as Expert Estimating, Cost X, and MS Excel/Word/Power Point.
