About the Role
The Senior Risk Management Specialist will play a key role in supporting the business function in managing operational and compliance risks. This includes identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and developing strategies to minimize the impact of risks on the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Identification and Mitigation
The Senior Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. This includes working with the Operations Leadership Team and Business Owners to identify and assess risks, and developing plans to mitigate or eliminate them.
Compliance and Regulatory RequirementsThe Senior Risk Management Specialist will ensure that the business function is compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements. This includes staying up-to-date with changes in regulations and ensuring that the business function is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Reporting and CommunicationThe Senior Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for reporting on risk and compliance issues to the Operations Leadership Team and Business Owners. This includes providing regular updates on risk and compliance matters, and ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of any changes or developments.
Stakeholder EngagementThe Senior Risk Management Specialist will work collaboratively with all business stakeholders to facilitate and positively influence solutions. This includes developing ideas and processes, and communicating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the implementation of recommended mitigation initiatives, strategies, and controls.
Requirements
- Mid-level experience in Insurance and/or financial services.
- Preferred RG146 accreditation or Cert III ANZIIF or similar qualification.
- Experience in creating business requirements, business plans, and project management plans.
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements, risk management, and impact/cost of non-compliance.
- Knowledge of insurance industry, financial services/products, and related compliance requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement working collaboratively and effectively across all levels within the organisation.
- Experience in managing small and medium-scale operational changes.
- Aptitude for analysis, investigations, and problem-solving.
