Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the advancement of our safety, animal welfare, and environmental framework to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Promote a mature safety culture through collaboration and positive communication with all stakeholders.
  • Build credibility by recognizing and supporting operational efforts to achieve safety objectives.
  • Enhance the organization's risk management practices and identify areas of greatest impact.
  • Monitor HSE performance, investigate incidents, analyze reports, and develop lessons learned.
  • Systematically review documentation and records to ensure they are relevant, current, and compliant.
  • Liaise with industry peers to maintain continuous improvement and best demonstrated practice.
Requirements
  • Ability to develop positive and professional working relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • A high degree of familiarity with positive behavior and attitudinal safety practices.
  • Understanding of national HSE standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Strong attention to detail, data interpretation, and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A current driver's license and the capacity for regular travel within Australia.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent technical experience obtained through a trade qualification.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Livestock production/cropping industry experience.
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of primary production risks.
  • A track record of influencing positive HSE outcomes.
  • Exposure to structured change management practices.
  • Exposure to occupational rehabilitation and injury management processes is desirable.
  • Experience in drafting and interpreting policies and procedures.
