Empower Young Minds as a STEM Coach

Mentoring a young girl in the 8th or 9th grade is an opportunity to inspire her potential in STEM studies and careers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend online training sessions with program staff and other coaches to enhance your skills.
  • Establish a strong bond with your student at one of two summer camp locations in December, providing a head start on mentoring.
  • Engage with your student every three weeks, offering guidance and insights into a STEM career.
  • Participate in an online wrap-up session during the winter camp in July to celebrate the group's achievements.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A proven interest in STEM activities and education.
  • The ability to work effectively with high school students and understand their needs.
  • An understanding of and agreement to coach responsibilities and expectations.
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), or state equivalent, for ensuring child safety.
  • Flexibility and commitment to meet time requirements.

This volunteer position requires dedication and flexibility. You will be matched with a female student based on compatible STEM interests and geographical location. Comprehensive training and support are provided to ensure your success.
