Job Description

The Department of State Growth is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Visitor Experience Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Visitor Services Team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to visitors, ensuring a consistent and first-rate experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide information on TMAG's programs, exhibitions, shop, and facilities to visitors.
  • Interact with visitors, encouraging curiosity and assisting in interpretation and connection with the exhibitions/exhibits.
  • Provide advice about the TMAG shop and TMAG services, resolving queries and directing visitors to appropriate sources for further information.
  • Ensure the protection of public areas, exhibits, gallery, and shop spaces to ensure the safety and security of visitors, staff, the collection, and retail stock.
  • Support TMAG programming and special events by performing tasks such as tours, ushering, assisting in the delivery of public programs, and general set-up of spaces.
  • Accurately undertake retail operations in the shop, including processing sales using point-of-service systems and assisting with visual merchandising.
  • Assist with visitor evaluation projects, including data collection and visitor observations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of public spaces, exhibitions, displays, and the shop during shifts.
  • Provide support to management as required, including mentoring new staff, hosting VIP tours, and assisting with after-hours events and functions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality and efficiency of services and work processes within the Visitor Services Team.

Requirements:

  • A current First Aid qualification or ability to obtain one within the first three months of commencing employment.
  • A current driver's license with the ability to operate manual vehicles.
