Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Security Officer to join our team at a State Government Office in Hobart. As a Security Officer, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring the premises remain secure, and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols and static guarding duties to maintain a high level of security and vigilance.
  • Monitor entry points, verify identification, and conduct screenings to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and contractors, while maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and accurately document incidents.
  • Utilize surveillance equipment to observe and report any unusual activity.
  • Adhere to all security protocols and procedures as per MSS policies and site guidelines.
Requirements
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Physical ability to conduct patrols and remain at static posts for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding of security procedures in a corporate environment.
  • Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
  • Valid Tasmanian Security Licence.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Working With Vulnerable People check.
  • Full Australian Working rights.
  • Drivers licence.
  • 24/7 availability required.
