The Department of Education is a major employer and regulator in the state-wide learning and development sector, with approximately one-third of all Victorians across early childhood and school education.
About the PositionThis is a rare opportunity to join the Legal Division as a Senior Lawyer in the newly formed Regulatory Reform Unit (RRU).
Main Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with Project Directors and Principal Lawyers to address emerging issues.
- Engage proactively with other areas of the department.
- Identify strategies to support successful delivery of legislative projects.
- Built strong relationships with senior executives, ministers' offices, central government agencies, and other departments.
- Relevant law degree and practicing certificate.
- Significant experience providing expert legal advice on government law issues, particularly in relation to government administration and the school and early childhood education system.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
