Job Description

As a Senior Lawyer in our Regulatory Reform Unit, you will play a critical role in driving legislative projects that promote child safety in early childhood services across Victoria. You will work closely with the Project Director and Principal Lawyers to provide expert legal advice on government law issues, particularly those related to education administration.

  • Develop and implement significant legislative projects, including primary legislation and subordinate instruments such as regulations, ministerial orders, and other legal instruments.
  • Provide novel and complex legal advice on legislation in the early childhood education and school portfolios.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience in legislative project delivery, with a focus on government law issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex legal issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with senior executives, ministers' offices, and other departments.
