Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service operates Rockhampton Hospital, a prominent 305-bed facility serving as the primary referral center for Central Queensland. Our specialist medical services encompass a wide range of fields, including Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, and more. Additionally, we provide various clinical services through visiting specialists from tertiary hospitals across Queensland. Our newly established Cancer Care Unit is equipped with cutting-edge technology to support local patients.

Role Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will become part of a dedicated rheumatology team, contributing to the establishment of a new, high-quality outpatient service within their authorized clinical practice as recognized by the Credentialing Committee at Rockhampton Hospital and CQHHS facilities. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality medical care under the supervision of consultant medical staff.
  • Operating in a semi-autonomous capacity within an outreach outpatient clinic to provide exceptional care to general rheumatology patients.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Essential qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Proof of registration as a Specialist General Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia is required for this position.
  • A primary medical degree and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) are mandatory.
  • Active enrollment and maintenance of a continuing medical education (CME) program with relevant bodies.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Structure:

The total remuneration package can reach up to $77,343 per annum, which includes:

  • An hourly rate starting at $100.78.
  • A 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
  • 17.5% leave loading.
