Financial Crime Investigation Leadership

This role requires a proven leader with deep expertise across financial crime, law enforcement or AML/CTF.

The successful candidate will have exceptional experience working at a senior leadership level within a national or global organisation in an investigations capacity.

  • Lead investigations and projects as part of the AUSTRAC Fintel Alliance and bilaterally with Commonwealth and State/Territory law enforcement agencies.
  • Support continual improvement in compliance with AML/CTF obligations through delivery of specialist investigative capabilities.
  • Provide emergent and high-priority support to law enforcement requests and contribute to protecting the community from financial crime.

About this role:

The Head of Financial Crime Investigations will lead specialist teams focused on national security, terrorism, human impact crimes, money laundering and organised crime.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to combat financial crime and improve AML/CTF processes.
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
  3. Liaise with external partners to share best practices and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
