About the Role

The Precinct Operations Lead is responsible for the year-round development and planning, as well as the implementation and management of all venue-related services for the Australian Open. This includes Security & Access, Cleaning & Waste, PTTM, Venue and Event Operations, and Vehicle Access & Parking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Melbourne & Olympic Parks to implement practical processes for planning project groups, striving for continual improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop workforce requirements, including schedules and rosters, for relevant workforces.
  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of crowd management tools and infrastructure, including capacity counters, tensa barriers, signage, pass outs, and virtual queues.
  • Monitor and coordinate Melbourne Park venue access requests on behalf of Tennis Australia departments.
  • Work with Melbourne & Olympic Parks on the year-round technology strategy for Car Park Operations, ensuring Australian Open requirements are met.
  • Assist with capturing and circulating Precinct Activity through the AO Daily Schedule and AO Daily Updates.
  • Perform the 'On-Ground Manager' role during the event period.
About You

We're looking for a candidate with:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in event/venue management, sporting, or events.
  • Operational mindset, strong results focus, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, time-pressured environment.
  • Good communication skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of office administration, equipment, database, email, and internet systems, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work within set budget parameters.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • A current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
