Culinary Team Leader Job

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Team Leader to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading a section and preparing high-quality dishes for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present authentic Italian dishes to the highest standard.
  • Supervise your section, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency during prep and service.
  • Support the Head Chef in menu planning, specials, and food styling, contributing creative ideas that enhance the guest experience.
  • Uphold food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards with accurate record keeping.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and manage storage to minimise waste and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior chefs, helping them grow and succeed.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture built on respect, passion, and collaboration.
  • Assist with supplier relationships to ensure the highest quality produce at the best possible price.
  • Stay up to date with culinary trends and bring new ideas to keep our menu exciting and relevant.

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years' experience as a Demi Chef or similar, with a strong passion for Italian cuisine and demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider.
  • Previous experience in Italian or Mediterranean cuisine is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of grooming, hygiene, and food safety.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
