Culinary Leader Job Description

Are you a skilled chef seeking a new leadership challenge? We are searching for an experienced Culinary Leader to direct our kitchen team and deliver exceptional dining experiences.

About the Role:

  • Guide a team of catering assistants to provide outstanding dining experiences
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals that cater to resident preferences and needs
  • Ensure excellence in food quality, presentation, and safety
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory control

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook main dishes, soups, sauces, and desserts
  • Manage food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation
  • Implement infection control principles and practices
  • Complete reports as required
  • Identify training needs and requirements of catering staff

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
  • Aged Care or hospitality experience preferred
  • Effective time management, organisational skills, and financial acumen
  • Previous experience in leading a team and managing resources
  • Understanding of Food Audits and demonstrated experience working within a multidisciplinary team
