About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our Investment Management Finance team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial results for the Investment Management portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting of the Asset portfolio.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, half-year, and year-end financial results including accruals, journals entries, management reports, cashflows and balance sheet reconciliations and Capex.
  • Prepare Profit and Loss, variance analysis and provide commentary.
  • Prepare monthly, half year and full year regulatory requirements for submission to teams such as Tax and Statutory Reporting (BAS, STI).
  • Assist in forecasting processes, as well as identifying and escalating opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with year-end audit process.
  • Enhance organisational effectiveness through continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Actively engage in Stockland's sustainability programs and support the delivery of a community and environmental shared value proposition.
About You
  • CA/CPA/CIMA accreditation advantageous
  • Minimum 1 year experience in management and financial accounting in a similar role (Essential)
  • Experience in managing varied stakeholder relationships (Essential)
  • Experience in preparing monthly financial results (Desired)
  • Property experience (preferred)
  • Technical experience in SAP, Anaplan or similar (Desired but not necessary)
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting standards and principles
  • Well developed communication skills - can express ideas, both in writing and verbally
  • Builds constructive working relationships characterised by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect
  • Can solve problems and make decisions through properly understanding issues, referring to relevant data to draw conclusions, effectively determining the best solution and taking action accordingly
