Senior Property Accountant

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a prominent property investment company to find a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant. In this critical role, you will oversee the financial operations related to property performance, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all tasks. Your responsibilities will include managing the general ledger, completing month-end processes, preparing management reports, analyzing financial statements, producing statutory reports, and contributing to board presentations.

The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in the property industry, along with strong technical accounting skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. This position offers room for growth, greater responsibility, and the chance to make a significant impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accurate maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Manage the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordinate the preparation of quarterly financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  • Produce monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet analyses.
  • Assist in the creation of monthly management reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Statutory Financial Report.
  • Provide support and insights for the preparation of reports for the Board and its Committees.
  • Participate in ERP system implementation and data migration efforts.
  • Proactively recommend and drive process improvements.
  • Communicate financial insights effectively and promptly to other business units.
  • Prepare audit files and address auditor inquiries.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance
  • CA/CPA/ACCA qualified
  • Experience in the property and real estate sector
  • Prior experience with property accounting software (MRI) is essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
  • Strong technical accounting expertise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Energetic, perceptive, and self-motivated
