About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Management Specialist to join our team at Michael Page. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category management strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Management: Develop and execute category management strategies for fixed plant equipment and related services, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Lead sourcing activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, to ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and maintenance, to identify procurement opportunities and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Market Analysis and Risk Management: Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement within the manufacturing or construction industries, ideally with a focus on fixed plant equipment.
  • Strong Skills: Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills, with the ability to develop and execute category strategies that deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
