Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Category Management Specialist to join our team at Michael Page. As a Category Management Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category management strategies for fixed plant equipment and related services.
Key Responsibilities- Category Management: Develop and implement category management strategies to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Sourcing and Procurement: Lead sourcing activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish strong supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and maintenance, to identify procurement opportunities and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and sustainability initiatives in all procurement activities.
- Experience: Proven experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement within the manufacturing or construction industries, ideally with a focus on fixed plant equipment.
- Skillset: Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills. Ability to develop and execute category strategies that deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, or supply chain management. Relevant certifications, such as CSCP or CPSM, are highly regarded.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
