Your Key Responsibilities

You will manage a portfolio of liability claims, conducting thorough investigations, securing documentation, and verifying accuracy. Your role involves establishing timely reserves, providing exceptional service standards, and exercising good judgement in claim disposition.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of liability claims according to Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Analyse first reports to determine loss nature, coverage provided, and scope of injury/damage.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations of reported claims, including potential fraud, and secure supporting documentation.
  • Establish accurate and timely reserves.
  • Provide outstanding service standards aligned with Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Maintain an active diary to achieve timely claim development and disposition.
  • Documents all claim developments promptly and properly.
  • Exercise sound judgement in evaluating claim final disposition.
  • Negotiate compromise settlements effectively where appropriate.
  • Communicate seamlessly with various stakeholders, including the claim department, customer services, loss control, underwriting departments, finance departments, brokers, insureds, service providers, third parties, and their legal representatives.
  • Pursue subrogation opportunities as applicable.
  • Comply with the Insurance Contracts Act, Insurance Code of Practice, and other relevant statutory rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to legal, regulatory, and internal compliance obligations.
  • Control outside vendor usage, work product, and expenses effectively.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary or insurance industry qualifications.
  • A minimum of 2 years liability claims experience.
  • Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective workflow management skills.
  • Excellent customer service focus.
  • Proven team player.
