Job Description

This role plays a critical part in supporting vulnerable families and children.

  • Key responsibilities include supporting staff, triaging referrals, family violence risk assessment and safety planning, engagement of victim survivors and their children.

The role also involves supervising, mentoring and coaching direct service workers, providing a framework to guide staff in their practice.

A comprehensive understanding of the integrated Family Violence Service System is required.

This position is responsible for contributing to The Orange Door (Hume Moreland) mission by working closely with stakeholders to provide effective services to clients.

There are training programs offered as part of the induction program by Family Safety Victoria including:

  • Integrated Practice Framework.
  • Information Sharing Regime.
  • Hub site induction and worker health and safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need to possess:

  • A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles.
  • Two years or more practice experience in the area of family violence.
  • Capacity to be flexible as part of a rostered Triage and response team.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision.
