About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech Therapist to join our team at our Ripley Valley clinic. As a Speech Therapist, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills across pediatrics, child mental health, disability, or a combination of all three, to meet your individual interests and professional development goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality speech therapy services to children, young people, and their families, using an attachment-informed framework that focuses on strengthening relationships within families and empowering our young people to achieve their goals.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary model with our team of occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, counselors, and allied health assistants to ensure comprehensive care for our clients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client, using evidence-based practices and family-centered approaches.
- Provide community-based services one day per week to the Ipswich, Springfield, Lockyer Valley, and Scenic Rim regions, dependent on client needs.
- Participate in external supervision for clinical supervision by highly experienced senior speech pathologists, as well as in groups by our senior therapists, who have a combined 30+ years' experience across pediatrics, child mental health, and disability.
- Bachelor in Speech Pathology (or equivalent)
- Current registration with SPA (or soon to be for new graduates)
- Current open driver's license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence and discipline in working independently, especially in community-based settings
- Willingness to supervise Allied Health Assistants
- Pediatric experience
- Experience working with National Disability Insurance Scheme
- Experience running therapy groups
