Commercial Category Lead Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and ambitious professional to drive the growth and success of our commercial category. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, managing key suppliers, and ensuring the efficient logistics and shipping of products.

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in a relevant field, such as commerce or business, and have experience as a category manager in an e-commerce, retail, or FMCG environment. They will also have excellent analytical skills, commercial nous, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify Commercial Opportunities: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities for category expansion, including sourcing and developing new products.
  • Manage Key Suppliers: Engage and manage key suppliers in world-class brands and Kogan.com's exclusive brands.
  • Logistics and Shipping: Ensure the most efficient logistics and shipping options are chosen for each product.
  • Maximise Profitability: Maximize profitability of all products through a depth of understanding of your category and the market.
  • Drive Promotional Strategy: Drive and control promotional strategy and price changes across different sales channels.

This includes planning promotional activity and actively reacting to market conditions to ensure revenue and profit targets are exceeded every month. Monitoring performance and completing range reviews across your category and recommending actions where necessary.

Qualifications:
  • University Degree: University degree qualified in a relevant field (commerce, business, entrepreneurship, merchandising, planning, e-commerce or similar).
  • Category Management Experience: Experienced as a category manager, preferably within an e-commerce, retail, or FMCG environment.
  • Communication Skills: Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships through exceptional communication and engagement.
  • Analytical Skills: Highly analytical and possess commercial nous, being able to recognize opportunity and make quick, impactful decisions for the best commercial outcomes.
