Senior Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our pit crew, you will be responsible for the preparation and build of our race cars, ensuring they meet the highest technical specifications.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Indycar, Sports Cars or F1 series race cars, with recent experience in British GT or SRO-sanctioned events being a bonus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Car Preparation: Oversee the preparation and build of our race cars, ensuring all components are safely joined, bolted, or otherwise secured.
  • Team Leadership: Directly supervise a team of mechanics, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure quality control and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Event Support: Travel with the team to races and tests, ensuring the car is properly functioning and performing at optimal levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as chief mechanic in Indycar, Sports Cars or F1 series race cars.
  • Demonstrated understanding of set-up specifications for race cars and safety mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively interact with all team members.
  • Ability to interpret and follow set-up designs for individual race and test events.
  • Intimate knowledge of mechanical components, electronics, and structural framework of race cars.
  • Manual experience using lathe, mill, drill press, or band saw.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring devices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, Teams, One Note, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive.
