Position Overview
The KU Business Development Team is on the lookout for a dynamic, collaborative, and detail-oriented Business Development Consultant to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. This role includes a monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO) and offers flexible working arrangements. The position is based in our modern support office, with opportunities for hybrid work post-probation. Occasional interstate travel may be required.
This role is centered on evaluating, researching, and broadening business prospects to ensure sustainable growth. It involves identifying and nurturing new business avenues and responding to grant opportunities that align with KU's expertise in the early childhood sector.
Key responsibilities include:
Evaluate, manage, and respond to Tenders and Expressions of Interest (EOIs) that align with the KU Strategic Plan and objectives. Assist in grant applications aimed at enhancing KU's operations, programs, and services in collaboration with other departments. Explore partnerships with government, commercial, and community organizations to establish new, viable early childhood education services and programs. Oversee the launch of new services within designated timelines and budgets. Apply project management skills to ensure timely and efficient project completion. Identify and deliver opportunities for consultancy projects on a fee-for-service basis. Build networks to reinforce KU's reputation as the preferred provider of quality work-based childcare for employers.Essential Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven project management experience, strong financial and analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset, sharing our passion for early education. Additionally, you will have:
Advanced research, analytical, financial, and strategic thinking abilities to support recommendations that advance the organization's strategic goals. The ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines. A solid understanding of operational budgets and financial analysis, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate group presentations and produce business reports. Innovative problem-solving skills, capable of developing and proposing equipment-based solutions for clients. Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.*A Tertiary Qualification in Early Childhood/Business and the ability to contextualize experience within early years in a business setting would be highly regarded.*
