About this Role

As a Youth Job Coach, you will provide person-centred case management and mentorship to approximately 50 Transition to Work participants, aged 15-24. Your role involves undertaking direct employer marketing, providing individual support, and running facilitated group-based job search sessions to motivate and promote further job placements.

This includes assessing clients' needs, setting goals, stabilising non-vocational issues, improving vocational skills, referring to various services, and motivating young people to find sustainable employment or re-enter education, with post-placement support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively with culturally diverse individuals, employers, and staff
  • Assess, develop, and implement effective case plans
  • Provide tailored support and motivation to enhance clients' employability and educational prospects
  • Negotiate customised jobs for clients with employment barriers through effective communication
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including staff and clients
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes
  • Demonstrate strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold a current driver's licence
  • Current Working with Children's Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in Youth or Employment Services or a related industry
  • Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development or Youth (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proven track record of supporting young people into work and education
