Role Overview

The Housing Services Officer role plays a vital part in providing client-centered services to individuals and families seeking housing assistance or residing in public housing. This position is part of a network of community workers and organizations that collaborate to support vulnerable people, promoting their wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess clients' needs and advise on housing options based on established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Prepare routine cases following established procedures and represent the Department at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
  • Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • A fully competent individual in their assigned housing functions and possess well-developed skills across all areas.
  • Able to serve as a local reference point for less experienced staff and work under general supervision.
