Job Overview

This is a pivotal role within our finance department, where you will be instrumental in supporting the team with accounting tasks and providing exceptional assistance to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately process customer invoices for freight and cold storage services
  • Match purchase orders with supplier invoices and process accounts payable efficiently
  • Reconcile fuel usage, driver dockets, and vehicle-related expenses meticulously
  • Assist in monitoring debtor balances and following up on outstanding payments promptly
  • Reconcile bank and company credit card statements diligently
  • Support payroll processing (e.g., timesheets, driver allowances, overtime) accurately
  • Liaise with transport operations and warehouse teams to ensure accurate billing and resolution
  • Support end-of-month reporting efficiently
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting records in compliance with company policies
Requirements
  • Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or working towards)
  • 2–3 years' experience in an accounting support role, ideally in transport, logistics, or warehousing
  • Understanding of basic payroll and award interpretation is beneficial
  • Experience with fleet or warehouse management systems is advantageous
  • Accounts Assistant Experience
  • Familiarity with transport/logistics billing systems and terms (e.g., pallet tracking, load rates, demurrage, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Proficiency in accounting software-Xero
  • Competent with Advanced Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with drivers, depot managers, and suppliers
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving
