About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed-term Registered Nurse Level 2 position within the Cardiothoracic Neurosurgical (CTN) ward at Calvary Hobart. This facility is the only private hospital in the state specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery. The CTN ward is dedicated to providing step-down care for patients recovering from Critical Care (CCU) after undergoing procedures such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts, Valve Replacements, and Thoracic Surgery. Additionally, the ward offers pre and post-operative care for patients undergoing Craniotomy and various spinal surgeries.
The CTN ward features 22 beds, characterized by high occupancy rates and a dynamic patient turnover. This role is ideal for a driven Registered Nurse with strong clinical expertise and leadership potential, working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to uphold clinical excellence and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional patient service consistently, aiming to exceed patient expectations.
- Delegate care responsibilities to team members based on their competencies and provide timely supervision to ensure safe and accurate care delivery.
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement processes and evidence-based practices, identifying opportunities for enhancement.
- Adhere to Calvary's policies and relevant health regulations, including the position description, Code of Conduct, and industrial agreements.
- Ensure compliance with ACQSHC National Standards to guide the provision of safe and high-quality care.
What You Bring
- Current AHPRA registration with a valid practicing certificate.
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination unless exempt.

- Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD points).
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in the specialty area as required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
