About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Level 2 for a fixed-term position in the Cardiothoracic Neurosurgical (CTN) ward. This ward is unique as it is the only private facility in the state that performs Cardiothoracic Surgery. The CTN ward specializes in providing transitional care for patients recovering from Critical Care (CCU) after undergoing procedures such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts, Valve Replacements, and Thoracic Surgery. Additionally, the ward caters to pre and post-operative care for Craniotomy patients and various spinal surgeries.

The CTN ward consists of 22 beds and experiences a high turnover of patients with diverse cases. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Registered Nurse with strong clinical expertise to take on a leadership role, collaborating closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to foster staff development and uphold clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional patient service consistently to surpass patient expectations.
  • Delegate care responsibilities appropriately based on team members' competencies, providing timely guidance and supervision to ensure safe and accurate care delivery.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement processes and evidence-based practices, actively identifying and contributing to enhancements.
  • Adhere to organizational and governmental health policies, the position description, Code of Conduct, and relevant industrial agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with ACQSHC National Standards, guiding the provision of safe and high-quality care.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current AHPRA registration with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination unless exempt.
  • Working with Vulnerable People Check.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National Standards and other relevant standards.
  • Maintenance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency in the specialty area as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
