Medical Devices Specialist

As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical devices. Your primary responsibility will be to perform safety checks, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of electronic, electrical, or electromechanical medical devices to meet Australian standards.
The job involves performing routine mandatory testing & inspections of medical equipment, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of fault conditions in medical equipment. You will also maintain equipment database, service records, and test results.
About the Role:
This position is part of the NSW Health team, working in rural and remote healthcare. The Far West Local Health District provides high-quality public health services to communities in far west NSW.
We employ well over 800 clinicians and support staff across our 9 health facilities in Broken Hill, Balranald, Dareton, Ivanhoe, Menindee, Tibooburra, Wentworth, White Cliffs, and Wilcannia.
Key qualifications include a Certificate in Electronics and Communications or equivalent, or other qualifications and work experience in the Biomedical field deemed acceptable by the employer. Analytical skills in fault finding and problem solving in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, are highly desirable.
