Job Overview

The QA QC Field Engineer is a vital role that oversees and manages field quality assurance and engineering activities for BESS projects. This position ensures that all field engineering and quality processes are executed efficiently, meet regulatory and safety standards, and align with the project's and company's goals.

  • This includes developing and implementing field quality assurance (QA) plans, procedures, and standards to ensure project compliance with industry regulations or best practices.
  • The engineer conducts field inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work performed by field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all equipment and materials delivered to site are inspected and documented.
  • They identify and resolve quality issues by coordinating with engineering and field teams to implement corrective actions.
  • The engineer also reviews and maintains project quality records, monitors supplier quality performance, and makes recommendations to senior leadership for actions on underperforming suppliers.

This role requires strong technical expertise in engineering principles relevant to BESS projects, field operations, and quality assurance practices. The engineer must be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in the field and have excellent auditing skills and formal audit qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop inspection and test plans (ITPs) ensuring they meet head contract requirements.
  • Amend QC processes as required to respond to changes in specifications and/or drawings that may arise ensuring that inspection and test plans are adjusted to suit.
  • Collect data from verification documents.
  • Represent EV with respect to QA/QC issues with the client.
  • Manage field inspection activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Civil) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, or project management, with at least 1 year of PV or BESS project experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, engineering standards, and industry regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing field operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Civil) or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, or project management, with a focus on PV or BESS projects.
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, engineering standards, and industry regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing field operations, including developing and implementing quality plans, conducting inspections and audits, and resolving quality issues.
  • Excellent auditing skills and formal audit qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
