Join our team as a Quality Assurance Field Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our renewable energy projects. In this exciting position, you will lead and manage field quality assurance and engineering activities, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project management, design, and product teams, to ensure practical, cost-effective solutions that meet requirements.

In addition to your technical skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. You will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to address quality or performance concerns, provide technical support, and represent the company regarding QA/QC issues.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or equivalent) and at least 3 years of experience in engineering, QA, or project management, with a background in PV or BESS projects. Six Sigma or ISO 9001 certifications are a plus. You should be comfortable traveling up to 10% of the time and willing to work on-site in Uralla. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement field quality assurance (QA) plans, procedures, and standards to ensure project compliance with industry regulations or best practices.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work performed by field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all equipment and materials delivered to site are inspected and documented.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues by coordinating with engineering and field teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Amend quality control (QC) processes as required to respond to changes in specifications and/or drawings, ensuring that inspection and test plans are adjusted to suit.
  • Review and maintain project quality records.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance, including making recommendations to senior leadership for actions regarding underperforming suppliers.
  • Assist in the preparation and conduct of quality trials and maintain associated records, procedures, and registers.
  • Oversee the development and approval of non-destructive test procedures by subcontractors and maintain records.
  • Participate in the assessment of tenders submitted by contractors and suppliers regarding compliance with quality conditions outlined in contracts and prequalification requirements.
  • Review client specifications concerning QC issues and make recommendations.
  • Develop inspection and test plans (ITPs) ensuring they meet contract requirements.
  • Amend QC processes as required to respond to changes in specifications and/or drawings.
  • Collect data from verification documents.
  • Represent EV regarding QA/QC issues with clients and subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Manage field inspection activities and internal reviews of QC areas.
  • Develop and manage project QA/QC audit schedules.
  • Implement data collection processes, including manual and electronic systems.
  • Maintain calibration and records of QC instruments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or equivalent).
  • 3+ years in engineering, QA, or project management, with at least 1 year in PV or BESS projects.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies, engineering standards, and regulations.
  • Experience managing field operations.
  • Certifications like Six Sigma or ISO 9001 are a plus.
  • ISO 9001 awareness and audit skills.
  • Experience with construction safety platforms (e.g., Procore).
  • White card.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to travel (~10%) and work on-site in Uralla.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible hours, including weekends/holidays if needed.
