Job Overview

The QA QC Field Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing field quality assurance and engineering activities for projects at Energy Vault.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance:

• Develop and implement comprehensive field quality assurance plans, procedures, and standards to ensure project compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

• Conduct thorough field inspections and audits to monitor the quality of work performed by field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all equipment and materials delivered to site are inspected and documented.

• Identify and resolve quality issues through collaboration with engineering and field teams to implement corrective actions.

• Adjust quality control processes as needed to respond to changes in specifications and/or drawings, ensuring that inspection and test plans are revised accordingly.

• Review and maintain accurate project quality records.

• Monitor supplier quality performance, including making recommendations to senior leadership regarding underperforming suppliers.

• Assist in preparing and conducting quality trials and maintain associated records, procedures, and registers.

• Oversee the development and approval of non-destructive test procedures by subcontractors and maintain records.

• Participate in assessing tenders submitted by contractors and suppliers regarding compliance with quality conditions outlined in contracts and prequalification requirements.

• Review client specifications concerning QC issues and make informed recommendations.

• Develop inspection and test plans (ITPs) ensuring they meet contract requirements.

• Adjust QC processes as required to respond to changes in specifications and/or drawings.

• Collect data from verification documents.

• Represent EV regarding QA/QC issues with clients and subcontractors/suppliers.

• Manage field inspection activities and internal reviews of QC areas.

• Develop and manage project QA/QC audit schedules.

• Implement data collection processes, including manual and electronic systems.

• Maintain calibration and records of QC instruments.

Engineering Expertise:

• Lead efforts to address design or engineering issues during construction and commissioning.

• Collaborate with project management, design, and product teams to ensure practical, cost-effective solutions that meet requirements.

• Review and approve field engineering plans, designs, and specifications.

Project Execution:

• Oversee field projects from start to finish, ensuring timely, within-budget, and quality-compliant completion.

• Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders for seamless execution.

• Monitor progress and report risks or issues.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

• Conduct quality audits and risk assessments to prevent hazards.

• Stay updated with industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Serve as the main contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams regarding QA/QC matters.

• Provide technical support to address quality or performance concerns.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and lead process improvement initiatives.

• Enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve construction & testing quality.
