
Fixed Assets Asset Reliability Specialist

This is a pivotal role within the plant reliability team responsible for providing expert engineering and technical support in the development of asset compliance strategies.
The Asset Reliability Engineer will be involved in the ongoing development and implementation of asset integrity processes and systems to ensure safe, efficient operation and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Key objectives include:
- Developing and implementing effective maintenance and reliability activities that comply with industry regulations and standards.
- Providing technical expertise to enhance asset reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and improve overall performance through strategic maintenance practices.
- Conducting regular condition assessments of critical assets using data analysis to identify potential issues or failures.
- Investigating equipment failures using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying causes and develop prevention strategies.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure alignment between asset reliability goals and organisational objectives.
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and experience in asset reliability, particularly in heavy industries, with a strong foundation in:
- Process/chemical engineering degree or associated fields required.
- Industry-related work experience in waste management, resource recovery, or manufacturing preferred.
- Chartered engineer status or eligibility for chartered status.
- Ability to evaluate, select, and apply applicable engineering techniques and procedures in accordance with Australian Standards.
- Experience developing and managing reliability programs for electrical equipment.
- Stakeholder management and compliance with hazardous areas/zones safety processes.
- Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance expertise.
- Root cause analysis and risk management skills using C&E Analysis, FMEA, and Risk Rating.
- Team member experience in HAZOP/CHAZOP reviews.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements related to asset reliability and maintenance.
- Familiarity with CMMS software and understanding of asset management principles, including ISO 55000 standards.
Lead or contribute to reliability improvement projects and initiatives, ensuring effective resource management, timelines, and budgets. Maintain advanced knowledge of Fixed Plant and Equipment Management System(s) and processes to support business personnel.
