The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Specialist to provide strategic leadership within the Tobacco Regulation Project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of regulatory professionals to ensure compliance with legislation and policies, maintaining high standards and meeting performance targets.
  • Contribute to ongoing monitoring of higher-risk industry participants, addressing information requests appropriately and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Assess, investigate, and respond to routine enquiries and requests for information from internal and external stakeholders, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Develop and continuously improve operational policies and processes to enhance service delivery, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in high-volume, fast-paced operational environments, ensuring performance targets are met and high standards are maintained.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement legislation in a regulatory context, particularly regarding applications for industry entry, assessing ongoing suitability, and addressing complex or high-risk issues.
