Job Title: Regulatory & Compliance Specialist
About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled and experienced regulatory compliance specialist to join our team. As the Regulatory & Compliance Manager within the Retail Transformation program, you will be responsible for leading the development of our regulatory and compliance function.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of our regulatory and compliance function within the transformation program.
- Partner with the business to support AGL to manage regulatory risks and requirements proactively and strategically.
- Drive a simplification agenda in everything AGL does, making it easy for our program and leadership team to easily identify and understand regulatory requirements.
- Provide relevant, strategic, and actionable regulatory advice to the business units operating in a highly complex regulatory and compliance environment.
- Deliver high-quality solutions-oriented regulatory advice on initiatives such as external communications, product development, campaign delivery, marketing collateral, and sales processes.
- Offer practical advice highlighting regulatory risks enabling informed business decisions while balancing compliance and commercial objectives.
- Partner with the Retail Transformation program ensuring effective implementation and monitoring of new regulatory requirements, integrating them seamlessly into business operations.
- Lead regulatory engagements primarily from Australian Energy Regulator and Essential Services Commission of Victoria, by coordinating cross-functional responses to meet deadlines, and overseeing regulatory reporting.
- Effectively lead, mentor, and coach team members by providing compelling strategic direction and a high-performance culture across the team, promoting a positive compliance culture within the broader Customer Markets team and across the Transformation Program.
- Experience in a regulatory or compliance role within the retail energy industry, with strong knowledge of industry regulatory frameworks.
- Strong project management skills, capable of coordinating multiple stakeholders to deliver within tight timeframes in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent literacy and presenting skills, with experience in preparing reports and submissions, and delivering clear, concise presentations to senior management.
- Highly proactive self-starter, adept at self-managing time and priorities, making decisions and driving outcomes in an ambiguous environment.
- Working regulatory knowledge to shape and implement future initiatives and stays informed of best practices in regulatory compliance with the ability to drive implementation.
