Grounds Maintenance Specialist Job">

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and presenting our school grounds in a clean and tidy condition.

This includes gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe, vibrant and clean school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition.
  • Provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Grounds Maintenance duties using safe work practices and in accordance with Department policies and guidelines.

The ideal candidate will show initiative and be able to work in a changing environment and collaborate with Executive staff to work towards a vision for improvement of our grounds and ongoing landscape projects.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
  • Demonstrated experience in minor servicing of horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals.

It is a requirement that the successful applicant obtain a valid Working With Children Check and consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
