Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Assistant

The primary objective of this role is to ensure a clean and healthy environment within the school by performing routine cleaning duties.

This includes:

  • Maintaining carpets, hard floor surfaces, toilets, furniture, fittings, and windows in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors, as well as emptying waste receptacles.
  • Using specialized equipment for tasks such as shampooing carpets and pressure cleaning verandas.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Reporting maintenance issues and incidents to the designated supervisor.
  • Ensuring compliance with Department and occupational safety standards.
Requirements and Skills
  • A valid Working With Children Check.
  • A current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • The ability to read and apply Material Safety Data Sheets and equipment operating instructions.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment, including polishers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure cleaners.
  • Effective communication skills, the ability to follow instructions, and work as part of a team.
