Job Description

This is a permanent part-time position commencing in Term 4, 2025. The role is situated on Noongar Whadjuk Boodjar and has been an integral part of the local community for over 100 years.

The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining internal and external cleaning duties including maintaining carpets and hard floor surfaces, cleaning toilets, furniture, fittings, and windows.

Vacation cleaning duties involve activities such as stripping and sealing vinyl floors, shampooing carpets, and pressure cleaning verandas. The Cleaner is also responsible for reporting faults, maintenance issues, and incidents to the designated supervisor while ensuring that schools are cleaned and maintained in compliance with Department and occupational safety standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain cleanliness and order in the school environment
  2. Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces
  3. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment
  4. Report any faults or maintenance issues to the designated supervisor
  5. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Departmental guidelines and policies
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to read and apply Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions, and training guidelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to, use cleaning equipment including polishers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure cleaners
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and work as a member of a team
