
Aboriginal End-of-Life Care Specialist

The Sydney Local Health District is seeking a dedicated professional to support the SLHD Palliative Care Service in providing respectful and culturally appropriate end of life and palliative care for Aboriginal people.
- This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community as such.
Key responsibilities include supporting clinicians, community-based service providers, and patient families at the primary healthcare level. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure culturally safe practices are part of the care coordination process.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people in relation to grief and loss and social and emotional wellbeing.
- Capacity to lead the development of culturally safe environments for Aboriginal patients and their families within a multidisciplinary team.
- Holds a current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
